Terms of service

Last updated August 2026

Harbor is currently in a private pilot with a small number of translation businesses. This is a real, genuine set of terms, not placeholder text, but it has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and will be before Harbor is generally available to the public. If anything here is unclear, email us directly, see the bottom of this page.

What Harbor is

Harbor is a business-management platform for translation and language service businesses ("LSPs"). Each business that signs up (a "Tenant") runs its own translation operation on Harbor: intake, quoting, matching to translators, AI-assisted drafting, human review and approval, delivery, invoicing, and vendor payout tracking. Harbor is not a marketplace, a Client only ever works with the one Tenant whose portal they were invited into, never a catalog of competing agencies to shop between.

Accounts and roles

You need an account to use Harbor. A Tenant's Admin is responsible for the accuracy of the information they provide and for the actions of the staff, Vendors, and Client contacts they invite. You are responsible for keeping your own login secure and for anything that happens under your account.

Subscription plans and billing

Harbor is offered on a free Starter tier and paid tiers above it, each with real, stated limits (job volume, staff seats, and which integrations are included). Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; a cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, we do not offer prorated refunds for a partial period unless required by law.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Harbor to:

  • Upload or process content you don't have the right to share, or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Attempt to access another Tenant's data, or circumvent the access controls that keep Tenants separated.
  • Send spam, abusive content, or attempt to overwhelm the platform (automated scraping, denial-of-service attempts, and similar).
  • Use the platform for anything illegal, or that violates a real, applicable law in your jurisdiction.

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, particularly where it puts other Tenants' data or the platform itself at risk.

Your content, and the role AI plays

You (or the Tenant you belong to) own the documents you upload and the translations produced from them. We only use that content to provide the service to you, including generating an AI-assisted draft translation via a third-party AI provider (see our Privacy policy for the specifics). Harbor is built around a real, structural rule that governs how AI is allowed to act in this product: an AI-drafted translation, an AI-suggested quote, or an AI-proposed operational action is never treated as final on its own, a real, signed-in human always reviews and approves it before it becomes an actual delivery, price, or business decision. We do not train our own AI models on your content.

Vendor and Client relationships

Harbor helps a Tenant match jobs to translators and manage those relationships, but the actual working relationship, and where money changes hands for it (unless a Tenant has explicitly enabled Stripe-based Vendor payouts through Harbor), is between the Tenant and their own Vendors and Clients. Harbor is a tool for running that business, not a party to those individual agreements.

Availability and support

We aim to keep Harbor available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and we are not liable for downtime caused by a third-party provider we depend on (our hosting, database, storage, email, AI, or payment providers). If something is genuinely broken, email us and we will treat it seriously and respond directly, that is our real, current support path during the private pilot.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Harbor is provided "as is." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, and our liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Harbor is limited to the amount you actually paid us in the three months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.

Termination

You may stop using Harbor and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account for a real, material breach of these terms, giving reasonable notice where the situation allows for it.

Changes to these terms

If we make a material change to these terms, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change meaningfully affects you, tell existing Tenants directly rather than only updating this page quietly.

Governing law

[Pending: the specific governing jurisdiction for these terms will be confirmed here once finalized with real legal review, before Harbor is generally available.]
